My name is Travis, and I am the kind of person that tells stories that end in "You really had to be there to get it."

To me, the best comedy is about contrast. Normal people in odd circumstances and odd people in normal circumstances. Normal people stuck with odd people. Comedy never seems funny when it’s odd people doing odd things or normal people doing normal things. My mom cites Seinfeld as a source of humor about normal people doing normal things and I cite the presence of Kramer right back.

This is all to say that I now know why I think Portlandia isn’t the greatest comedy show ever.
